The first word I learned to say is guaita. My paternal grandmother would take me for a walk in the trolley, and as we wandered around she would point at things with her finger and say: “Guaita Laia, guaita!”. She spoke a particular Catalan, she was the daughter of Vallcarca. She said guaita instead of mira (look at). Guaitar means to watch carefully, analysing what is observed. Vigilant.

Jo guaito – I analyse what I vigil carefully.

INTERACTIVE POSTERS

PROJECT:

Ask the Barrio

INTERACTIVE POSTERS
2018

Collection of posters to place in the streets during the event Poblenou Open Day organised by Poblenou Urban District in 2018.

The series was designed under the concept ‘Ask the Barrio’, following the style that the organisation manifested in different applications (using always ‘the Barrio’ combining English and Spanish languages). They were print-tested but never released, so the interactivity was never tested with the public.

Left to right and top to bottom:

1. I WANT _ TO BE LEGAL
2. LGBTQIH
3. SUNSET OR SUNRISE
4. TIME/MONEY - MONEY/TIME
5. #METOO #MEQUEER #ME_ #_
6. HOW ARE YOU?
